Children’s rides run on an extended cycle with lower music across the family end of the midway. Buy six children’s ride tokens for the price of five from the north kiosk during the session.

Summer Lights Saturday
Saturday 15 August · 11:00–23:00
Our longest-running Saturday format: full fairground lighting from dusk, brass and soul on the bandstand, and an extra half-hour of wheel rides after the live set finishes.
The Kingston Street Brass six-piece plays at 18:30 and 20:15. The south midway lighting sequence begins at approximately 20:35, depending on sunset and weather.

For younger families, come before 17:00. For the full lights, aim for 19:30 onwards. The busiest period is normally 20:00–21:30.
Extra bicycle racks are installed outside the Mill Lane gate on event Saturdays.

Regular sessions
Wristband Wednesday
Unlimited repeat rides on participating attractions with a £22 wristband. Ideal for older children and teenagers who want more than one turn.
Friday After Dark
The fair shifts into evening mode: full ride lighting, guest DJ at the dodgems and selected food traders serving until 22:15.
Low-Sensory Hour
Reduced music, fewer flashing light sequences and a smaller operating line-up before the main Sunday opening begins at 11:30.

29 August
Bank Holiday Big Saturday
Open 10:30–23:00, extra guest rides on the west lawn and two live bandstand sets from 17:30.
12 September
Kingston Community Night
Local youth groups and charities take over the bandstand from 16:00. A share of selected game takings goes to the community fund.
26–27 September
Closing Weekend
Final rides of the season, Saturday late opening and the traditional Sunday 20:30 wheel-light switch-off.
Groups & celebrations
Bringing a crowd?
School, youth and community groups of 20 or more can arrange preloaded token bundles for collection on arrival. Early-evening group visits are available Monday to Thursday during term time.
Birthday groups are welcome without a booking, but reserving picnic tables is recommended for parties over 12 people.
Bandstand enquiries
We programme local acoustic, brass, jazz and community performers on selected Saturdays. Sets are family-friendly and usually 30–45 minutes.
Performance slots are arranged in advance through the fair office during the operating season.
